India is the world’s largest producer of films & as many as 1288 feature films in various languages were produced in India in 2010. Disney released its first Bollywood feature film – Do Dooni Char in October 2010 and that too with limited budgets. The movie was a humorous & heartwarming story of an India middleclass family & Disney wanted to promote this movie as a family entertainer & facilitate families to enjoy this movie experience together.

We created a Disney Tickets Together-a Facebook app ( http://apps.facebook.com/disneyfilmsindia/ ) which enables the user to book tickets for the movie without leaving facebook & once he books the tickets it also sends alerts to his family & Friends to join him for the movie.

The underlining strategy was to connect friends/families with each other & to make the path to purchase of a movie ticket into a social experience

The first of a kind Movie booking application on facebook in India & enabled 4,300 families to enjoy the movie together. The move generated a social, positive buzz for Do Dooni Chaar.
